Football rivalry put aside in the name of charity

Newcastle International Airport announces Middlesbrough Football Club’s Foundation is to join its list of adopted charity partners.

The new partnership will see MFC Foundation join together with Newcastle United Foundation and Sunderland AFC Foundation of Light for the first time to raise funds.

They will collectively work together to engage both staff and customers at Newcastle International Airport.

MFC Foundation works across Teesside, delivering sport, health, education and inclusion projects that raise aspirations and change lives amongst the most vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.

The Foundation was set up by Steve Gibson in 1996 as the independent charitable arm of Middlesbrough Football Club, working with over 30,000 people every year and has delivered over 20,000 qualifications, engaged with over 500,000 people and invested £25 million locally in order to tackle inequality and disadvantage.
